Entry methods - Overview


The Entry methods overview shows an overall view of the data analysis of the ways in which visitors reach your website.


In the Web Analytics menu, choose Entry methods and click Overview. The data are displayed as a table or chart, depending on the last selection you made before you logged out..
The figures relate to the time range chosen and if you have selected a Segment, using that segment.


The overview shows (some of) the following analysis data on entry methods used:


Search Engine: The visitor has found your site by searching for certain keywords in a search engine such as Google or Bing.


Direct Entry: The visitor reached your site by typing or copying the website address into the search engine. Or the visitor has the address in the favorites of the search engine, as home page, clicked on a link in an e-mail or saved as a link.


Referring domain: The visitor arrived at your website via another website, by clicking on a link to your website. 


Unknown entry method: Snoobi has been unable to determine how visitors reach the site. That may be because the Snoobi tag is missing somewhere. Another cause may be that the Snoobi tag has no time to analyze (for example, if a page has a comprehensive graphic image and a visitor leaves the page before Snoobi can be activated).


Directories: The visitor reached your site via an online directory.


Advertising: The visitor came to the site by clicking on an advertisement that is configured in the Snoobi settings. To analyze an ad, the advertising code is either created or uses the standard UTM-codes used by Google Analytics.. Ads can be for example: banners, newsletters, e-mail campaigns, cost-per-click campaigns, and more.


Social media: The visitor has reached your website by clicking on a link in an "online community" such as a blog, forum, Twitter, Facebook, etc.
Note: It is not always possible to recognize a click from social media. In these cases, the click is found under Referring domains. Please inform us if you see incorrect data.
