Content - Site variables

This panel can show (among others) the terms with the website's own search function.
To analyze this, the Site variables settings must be done by an administrator. This function is also used to filter one or more variables from the URL and display them.

If you know what information is requested, you can improve the content and usability of your website. Make sure the content of your website matches the most popular keywords in your industry or specific keywords and search terms that are important for your visitors.
If you notice that a lot of information sought is too much hidden, set it in a prominent place so that it is easier to find.

Show details

In the Web Analytics menu, select Content and click Site variables. The data are displayed as a table or chart, depending on the last selection made (see panels).
Click on the name of variable to see more details on that specific variable.

What is shown

The panel displays information about the selected time range. See Metrics for an explanation of the data analysis.

Tips

Examples for improving a website on the basis of this information:

• Responding to customer needs: are people looking for products that you can not deliver (yet)?
• Website optimization / improvement of search engine visibility: when searching for products or services on your site, are customers using other terms than those used on your website? Can you customize the content of your website by using less jargon?
• Design and structure of your website: solve problems in navigation (visitors do not know intuitively where to look) and make sure the search is accurate (do not show pages that are not relevant).
