Site variables

You can analyze the use of the search function(s) of your website. These may be aimed at finding general content, or at searching specific items such as products.

If you know which search terms visitors use to find your site, you can improve the content and usability of your website. Make sure the content is tailored to the most popular search terms. If certain content already exists and is much sought after, you may want to move the page to a more prominent place, or create more links to it to ensure that visitors can easily find the page.

To enable analyzing in-site search tools, the keywords should be included in the URL address of the page. More technically, the in-site search needs either to use the GET method request or an artificial parameter called "addurl" must be added to the Snoobi tag of the page. You can test whether the GET request method is used by doing an in-site search after which you will see the URL change. If you see the keyword appear in the URL address of the resulting page, you can configure Snoobi in such a way that it will be analyzed.

This function can also be used to filter various variables from the address of your website. For example, a login of a user, or a particular category. Please contact us if you want more information.

Please note that excessive use of site variables can slow down Snoobi, so please contact us for additional information if you have more than 5 or 6.
